HONEYCOMB LEAKS

Honeycomb areas within poured concrete walls are pockets of excessive aggregate that result from improper cement mixture. When pouring cement into wall forms, sometimes the cement will have more aggregate when it gets near the end of the cement load. If this is not vibrated properly it can form a pocket where the cement to aggregate ratio is improper. Although the cement will dry and form part of the wall, it has a honeycomb effect due to insufficient concrete. These pocket areas can allow water to seep into the voids and leak into the basement. At Mr. Sponge Waterproofing, we can inject SP-3 through the area and cause the leak to stop with total encapsulation.

Mr. Sponge Waterproofing Incorporated specializes in stopping water from entering through poured cement foundation walls. Our specialty is repairing wall cracks, tie rods, honeycombs, and I-Beam leaks. We instantly stop water entry in these most common basement leak sources by injecting our proprietary SP-3 Water Activated urethane, under high pressure, into the path of water entering your basement.

Mr. Sponge is owner-operated; this means you get the owner on every job. We are not a franchise operation, but rather a Michigan-based corporation that brings solutions to homeowners from a local source.

Our proprietary blend of SP-3 urethane was developed in 1996 and brings a high performance in water-activated sealing solutions for our customers. Tested and applied for over 20 years, both private and commercial clients have seen their basement leaks disappear. On the commercial side of our business, we have clients with over 20 years of history with Mr. Sponge who continue to use our sealing techniques and services today for their numerous properties.

On the national level, we have developed the first and only tie rod leak repair device, which allows homeowners to fix their leaking tie rod holes on their own time. Currently sold in 35 states, the TRX Compressed Swell Plug has continued to grow on a national scale.
