Customer Review

From Merchant Circle

We waited 1.5 years to write about the effectiveness of Mr. Sponge's technique and ultimate fix for our 6 wall fractures and complete rod hole replacement. My husband took months to thoroughly investigate all types of repair techniques. We had companys come out to the house, watched videos, went to home shows and got a range of prices from $3500 to $22,000! We chose Mr. Sponge and after 1.5 years of examining the effectiveness of the product and technique we are more than EXTREEMLY SATISFIED that we did! We had a very bad corner crack where water leaked in a steady small stream during very wet weather and were very concerned whether the technique world work on, or not. Since the job was completed we have had the dryest basement in all the the 11 years we have lived in the house. We waited to write this review so we could go through all four seasons of wet weather they produced. We could have spent $22,000 for a fix but didn't have to with Mr. Sponge! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Photos of Basement Leaks

Example of a waterproofer who applied caulk sealant membrane on the front of the wall crack.
Since they did not get the sealant through the wall to the outside, water pushed the sealant
off the wall in pockets as seen here. This was properly injected with SP-3.

applied hydraulic cement and epoxy injection. All materials were removed and properly injected

Example of 1970's era waterproofing (channel drain) where contractor had cut out the wall
crack to install a drain tube through bottom of wall into drain tile. Over the years the materials
eroded due to water still being present inside the wall. All materials were removed and this was properly
injected with SP-3. ©2010, Mr Sponge Waterproofing, Inc

Drain tile failure and replacement is often sold by waterproofers where it may not be necessary.
This photo shows what drain tile failure looks like. In some cases this also may be the result of
a failed drain system meaning (storm drain line) or (sump pump operation). Either way, we
suggest that home owners have a certified plumber check out the drain systems before
spending thousands on drain tile replacement. See (Detail of Services) for further information.

Example of a failed epoxy injection showing injection ports.
Discussion on (Polyurethane vs Epoxy) can be found on this site
under (Detail of Services). After photo was taken, this was repaired
by injection of SP-3 Polyurethane.

This shows how SP-3 Polyurethane travels all the way through the wall crack to the outside.
This provides a long term seal and eliminated the need for digging on the outside.
